NIRA Opens New Registration Center in Daarasalaam District, Benadir Region
Mogadishu, Somalia – October 8, 2025 — The National Identification and Registration Authority (NIRA) has inaugurated a new registration center in Daarasalaam District, Benadir Region, to extend ID services to more citizens and strengthen its community outreach.
The ceremony was jointly officiated by NIRA’s Deputy Director General, Mr. Abdirahman Said Ahmed, and the District Commissioner of Daarasalaam, Mr. Mire Salah Dhuxulow.
In his remarks, Mr. Ahmed reaffirmed NIRA’s commitment to accelerating the rollout of new registration centers across the country to make ID services more accessible to the public. He encouraged residents of Daarasalaam to take advantage of the center and register for their National ID Card, which serves as a gateway to essential public and private services.
District Commissioner Mire Salah Dhuxulow thanked NIRA for opening the new center and emphasized the critical role of the National ID in accessing government and private sector services. He noted that the initiative supports national development goals by strengthening governance and service delivery.
With the opening of the Daarasalaam center, NIRA continues its mission to ensure that every Somali citizen can obtain a secure and trusted National ID, reinforcing inclusion and accessibility across all districts.
